Terms and Conditions
- Candidate must be Citizen of India.
- Candidate will be disqualified from in any round of requirement process when, he found ineligible.
Age limit
- Minimum age 21 – 32 years.
- The relaxation in the upper age for the candidates of the SC and ST category will be 5 years. OBC category will be of 3 years.
Educational Qualification
The candidate must hold a PASS BACHELOR’S degree from any of the recognize Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India

Exam Pattern
To Become an IAS officer, first you qualified CSE (Civil Service Exam) which is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) each years.
CSE Divided exam for IAS as follows
- Preliminary Exam(400 marks (conduct in August month,result in October)
- Main Exam(2075 marks) (conduct in December month,result in March)
- Interview Exam(conduct in May)
Preliminary Exam Syllabus
It has Two papers (duration 2 hours each and 0.33 penalty)
Paper I (General Study)
- Current events of national and international importance.
- History of India and Indian National Movement.
- Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
- Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public policy, Rights Issues, etc.
- Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
- General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization.
- General Science.
Paper II (CSAT)
- Comprehension
- Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
- Logical reasoning and analytical ability
- Decision making and problem solving
- General mental ability
- Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. — Class X level)
- English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level)
Main Exam Syllabus (Candidate attend Main exam, when he must Qualified Preliminary Exam)
- Paper-A (One of the Indian Language to be selected by the candidate from the Languages included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution) 300 Marks
- Paper-B English 300 Marks Papers to be counted for merit
- Paper-I Essay 250 Marks
- Paper-II General Studies-I 250 Marks
- (Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society)
- Paper-III General Studies -II 250 Marks (Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations)
- Paper-IV General Studies -III 250 Marks
- (Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management)
- Paper-V General Studies -IV 250 Marks (Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude)
- Paper-VI Optional Subject – Paper 1 250 Marks
- Paper-VII Optional Subject – Paper 2 250 Marks
- Sub Total (Written test) – 1750 Marks
- Personality Test – 275 Marks
